Tasting 24 samples totally blind in December 2020, you can find more here. All notes except the very last few sentences are written before reveal. Disclaimer: These are all very small drams, around 1.5-2 cl each, so doing a proper tasting is challenging. I'll do my best!
1.4 (Tawny)
Nose
Zesty, dark fruits (not too much), pears, oranges, chocolate.
Palate
A powerful entry. Fruit bomb. Almost a raspberry jam-like thing going on. Citrus, salt.
Finish
Peppery, fragrant, sweet, fruity.
Alright, so this is something I can get behind. I'm also quite confident in putting this close to High Coast Cinco or Berg, Glendronach 18 or maybe some older Arran. Around 50%, clearly a lot of sherry influence. Given the context of an advent calendar, Cinco is out given it's 500ml bottle factor. Berg is very popular here in Sweden, so I'll call it a Berg.
Reveal: Boom! I've had it many times before, many batches and I'm overall very familiar with it. It's comforting to know that my blind score got pretty close to my non-blind review from a while back!
