Tasted as a sample as part of a Glenmorangie tasting night for Burns night. An 18y/o glenmorangie with a touch of Sherry finishing. Mostly aged in American oak
0.7 (Amber)
Nose
sweet bourbon notes, vanilla, background oak. Surprisingly basic on the nose
Palate
orange, honey, cloying richness, vanilla. So smooth, Scottish tablet, panna cotta, tiny sherry taste in the background which works so well. Rum raisin fudge
Finish
spice on the finish, slight pepper. Goes on for a while which you would expect from the age. Campfire on the end? Not sure where that ones come from but I really enjoy it
Really good pour, there's lots of 18y/os out there that are more expensive that aren't much better. Take the 10 and dial it the fuck up to 18. The palate and finish make up for the slight nose. I'd happily pay for a bottle of those, does not disappoint
