Tasting 24 samples totally blind in December 2020, you can find more here. All notes except the very last few sentences are written before reveal. Disclaimer: These are all very small drams, around 1.5 cl each, so doing a proper tasting is challenging. I'll do my best!
0.7 (Deep gold)
Nose
Powerfully nutty, stewed apples, dried apricot. Salt. A fair bit of vanilla and toffee as well.
Palate
Apple cider, raisins, wine-y
Finish
Apples, malty, a little dry wood.
I like it! A timid dram, but a nice one.
Guess: Some PX influence? Definitely some sherry, probably a finish or refill. 46%-ish, not very old.
Glenfarclas 8. Didn’t know it existed! Certainly new to me. Only 40%, but evidently not too shabby anyway. Don’t think I was too far off with the guess, eh?
Check out my other advent tastings!
